Port of Shahid Rajaee  is one of the two parts in the port of Bandar Abbas, southern Hormozgan Province, Iran, located in the north shores of the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran. Shahid Rajaee port is about nine nautical miles west-southwest of the Port of Bandar Abbas. The port of Shahid Rajaee covers about 2400 hectares and handles 100 million tons of cargo per year; it has a capacity of 40 berths, with the largest and most advanced container terminal in the country, and after the opening of the second phase of the development plan of capacity there are 6 million TEU containers a year as well as a large volume of general cargo handling operations, especially steel products, dry bulk, liquid bulk and crude oil products are carried out The development and completion projects of the second and third basins of the port for the construction of new jetties with a draft of about 17 meters designated for the berthing vessels with a capacity of 150 thousand tons considered as the starting point of new evolution in the port.

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  1. Kindly note that, based on regulation enforce, the vessel shall not perform any ballast water operation before obtain permission from MARPOL Officer who usually boards the vessel with test kit to check the document, records and ballast water. Needless to mention that, even though you meet the criteria, he may still take sample from ballast water tanks to have it tested by the Lab which delays the vessel’s de-ballasting operation. Therefore, please try to keep minimum ballast water as the safety and stability of your good vessel permits. Kindly find herewith attached ROPME Sea Area Ballast Water Reporting Form and to avoid such delay, please have a record of the same and provide us with a copy, before ARRIVAL.
  2. Recently vessels deck fittings like butterfly nuts, sounding caps had been theft during cargo operation at SHAHID RAJAEI port. Also noted that robbers boarded fleet vessel at BND inner anchorage via anchor chain hawse pipe, they broken into ship’s store or life craft s, stole ship’s properties and they escaped in a waiting skiff. meanwhile they approach vessel at anchor for removing the zinc anode around propeller area, therefore in such case the local authorities shall be informed on vhf, esteeming Masters are required to ensure all required measures has taken for such breach of security.
  3. Air pollutions from ships. air pollution is carefully controlled at this port ; If any air pollution observe , MARPOL officer will remind the master via standard forms , If don’t fix in the deadline, offender ship will be will be facing with fine and penalties.
  4. It is extremely prohibited to discharge garbage, sewage, bilge water, and sludge, deck washing residue and any type of pollution materials into the Sea. Heavy penalties are imposed for violations!
  5. Garbage collection at Shahid Rajaee N Bahonar berths. Every morning & evening Garbage Reception facilities collect segregated garbage from berths in suitable packing. Garbage should be separation/segregation accordingly to MARPOL Annex V otherwise penalty or fine may apply to owner.
  6. Garbage removal at inner anchorage, esteeming masters can send their requests to agency or via VHF Channel 14, arrangement will be made for removal of garbage by two available garbage boats, hereby requested to submit scan copy of issued certificate to Hoopad Darya branch.
  7. in case vessel require to paint draft marks and ship’s name permission should  be obtained via agency from Marine Environment Protection Department and  Painting should only be done during the day light and it is strictly prohibited at night.
  8. As per Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization, vessels calling Iranian ports shall fly a suitable, full colored (not faded), clean Iranian national flag. Otherwise, they will be facing heavy penalties.
  9. Vessel shall call port control on VHF channel 16/13, two Hrs before arriving merchant anchorage and seek for safe anchor position from port control before anchoring.
  10. Alcoholic drinks and obscene pictures/tapes/CDs are strictly prohibited at this end. So, in case of availability please lock them up in bonded store before entering Iranian waters.
  11. According to the technical and security inspectors of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran, it has been observed that some documents or certificates submitted to the relevant port authorities by the vessels, contains illicit phrases other than “PERSIAN GULF”. Therefore, PMO would reserve the right to detain such vessels until such illegitimate vocabularies are removed and replaced with “PERSIAN GULF”.

  13. Electronic Port clearance will be issued at this port and there is no hard copy with stamp.
  14. Vessel calling B.Abbas OPL shall inform port control before anchoring and seeking for a safe anchor position.
